HILL HOLE QUARRY MARKFIELD
 
Following a number of recent incidents at Hill Hole Quarry where the emergencies have had to attend the Borough Council have issued the following letter concerning the dangers of swimming in the Quarry and about staying safe this summer.

SWIMMING AND WATER ACTIVITIES AT HILL HOLE QUARRY ARE NOT ALLOWED

The high perimeter fencing around the lake at Hill Hole quarry is there for a reason. It's to stop you getting into danger. NEVER climb over the fence or through the gaps.
Water can look inviting but in all quarries it is very dangerous to swim.Thewater is very deep and cold. You may also get caught up in things you can't seeunder the water's surface.

CYCLING AND CLIMBING AT HILL HOLE QUARRY ARE NOT ALLOWED

The rough terrain at Hill Hole Quarry might sem great for biking and climbing but there are many uneven surfaces and the rock faces may crumble and you could be seriously injured in a fall.

Please observe and follow ALL notices and signs on the site. |I you notice any gaps in the fence or see anything which causes you concern we would be most grateful if you could contact the Borough Council on 01455 238141 during office hours and 01455 2511137 out of offce hours. If you see peopletrespassing inside the fence at the quarry or are concerned about anyone's safety you should call the Police on 0116 222 222. In the event of an emergency please dial 999 for the emergency services.
